With Mother’s day coming up this Sunday, you may be scrambling to find the perfect way to express your appreciation and gratitude for all that your Mom has done for you. While no gift, no matter what the price tag reads, can thank her enough, there are plenty of ways you can celebrate the woman who helped raise you without breaking the bank. After all, it’s the thought that counts right?

Here are 5 thoughtful things you can do to thank your Mom this Mother’s Day:

Breakfast in Bed: Serving your mom breakfast in bed is an oldie Mother’s day tradition that never goes out of style. If this seems cliché to you, think about all the times your Mom woke up early and had breakfast ready for you before you even got out of bed. This Mother’s day, say thanks by waking up before her for a change and bringing her breakfast and coffee in bed. She will be overjoyed to be able to spend a morning relaxing and enjoying a meal in the comfort of her own bed and it’s a perfectly sweet way to show your gratitude.

Frame Favorites: Be wary, this may bring on the water works! Do you and your mom share a favorite picture, poem, or childhood story? If so, a great way to show Mom how much you care for her is to frame touching memories that she can have for always. If you’re more on the creative side, take the time to hand write her a personal poem or a heart-felt letter and frame that for her instead of a picture or story book cover.

Give Her the Day Off: This means you take on the Mom duties! From the moment she wakes up, tell your Mom that she has the day to herself to enjoy and relax. Then, take on her usual tasks and tackle any chores or important tasks she usually completes throughout the day. Run her errands for her, take care of the kids or siblings and fix all the meals. She will be moved by your thoughtful gesture and feel cherished on her special day.

Spend the Day Together: As you grow older and become busier in your own life, it can become hard to find any time to spend with your Mom, let alone schedule a whole day just for her. Take this Mother’s day and commit to spending all of it with her doing whatever she’d like to do. Take her to a movie, out to brunch, shopping, or just relax at home and catch up on life.  Remind her how grateful you are for having her in your life and thank her for helping make you the person you are today.

Pamper Her: Treat your mom to a spa like pampering day to remind her that she deserves some R&R. Turn your living room into an at home resort with candles, soft lighting, and a variety of lotions, oils, and beauty supplies. Draw a bath with soothing music, bubbles, and bath salts on hand and leave her to relax. Then, have her robe & slippers ready and give her a makeover including manicure, pedicure, and massage in your own living room! If transforming your home into a spa is not for you, surprise her with a scheduled day of pampering at the salon & spa. This thoughtful idea will surely give her a Mother’s day she won’t forget!
